Correspondents: Particularly reporters from large metropolitan areas and foreign countries.
Researchers: To draw upon a great array of alternative news sources and select the stories and videos most intriguing to an audience seeking news underplayed by the mainstream media.
Columnists: Of all opinions, persuasions, backgrounds, and sides of the political spectrum.
Dedicated Users: To comment on posts and pages, to tell friends and family about the site, and to use the ideas on our Promote page to ensure our message spreads.
Tech/Business skills: Audio/video editing, fund raising, graphic design, marketing, or news production.
WRITING TIPS:
If you’re going to write original content for us, then you might want to check out the basics of AP Writing Style.
Make your posts look as professional as possible. Quotations are to be in italics and with a source if possible.
U.S. not US. $100 not $US100. Smith not Mr. Smith.
There should be a picture in the top left corner of the post. This catches the visitor’s eye and helps them tell the posts apart. The size is up to you, but I usually use 180px width.
After your post is published, show it to the world by using the “ShareThis” button on the bottom of the entry to add it to sites like Reddit, Digg, Stumbleupon, and several others.
This is blockquote. It can be used for a long quotation or when you have something important to clarify in an article.
MEDIA TIPS:
No videos or pictures can be wider than 600px.
If you want to put Youtube videos in your posts, paste the Youtube video URL with httpv:// (notice the ‘v’).
The URL should just be copied into your post normally and the letter ‘v’ added, do not create a link of it.
If you’re embedding a non-Youtube video then please set the width to 600px and the height to 360px.
Remember to choose at least one category for your post before publishing it.
